Meet Yusuke Kuroda - Founder of Origami Ramen
Yusuke Kuroda, the visionary behind Origami Ramen Bar and Yuzu Omakase, was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. From an early age, he discovered his passion for cooking, learning the art of traditional Japanese cuisine from his grandmother by the age of six.
Pursuing his culinary dreams, Yusuke graduated from the prestigious Tsuji Culinary Institute, earning both a culinary arts degree and a coveted FUGU (blowfish) preparation license. At 19, he embarked on his professional journey in Kyoto, working in his first Kaiseki restaurant, where he honed his skills and deepened his appreciation for Japanese culinary traditions.
After eight years of culinary experience in Japan, Yusuke made a bold move to Charleston, South Carolina, driven by his dream of sharing authentic Japanese cuisine with a North American audience. He spent five years perfecting his craft in sushi restaurants across the southeast, before moving to Los Angeles in 2015 to join the renowned NOBU in Beverly Hills.
In the summer of 2020, Yusuke's long-held dream became a reality with the opening of ORIGAMI RAMEN BAR in Phoenix, Arizona. Here, he brings his extensive experience and passion for Japanese cuisine to create a unique dining experience that blends tradition with innovation.
